The Ruet-e-Hilal Central Committee meeting will be held today in Peshawar to see the month of Ramadan, a spokesman for the Ministry of Religion confirmed.
Maulana Abdul Habir Azad previously said that the Pakistani people would watch Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr together on the same day. Azad also confirmed that the commission also invited Mufti Popalzai to attend the meeting.
Azad was appointed by the federal government to replace Mufti Munaib-ur-Rehman last December.
The Met Office, meanwhile, said there was a high chance the moon would be found today as it is over 35 hours old at sunset today.
Earlier, Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had predicted on Saturday that the month of Ramadan would be visible across the country on April 13.
